🎇 Starlight Parade: First Impressions & Insider Tips
“Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” is officially lighting up Magic Kingdom nightly—and Lyn was there to see it in person! From where to stand to what surprised her most, we’ve updated our full guide with new photos, tips, and video clips.

💫 What We’re Loving:
That show-stopping castle finale!
Interactive magic moments from the floats
Sneaky nods to classic Disney films (Lyn caught a few 👀)
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: The first performance is the most crowded. If there are two shows, the later one usually offers more breathing room and better views.
🏎️ Test Track 3.0 Speeds Into EPCOT
It’s back—and zippier than ever! Test Track officially reopened this week with a brand-new story overlay and a nostalgic nod to the original World of Motion. Lyn rode it opening week and sent back video, photos, and her honest review.

🔧 What’s New:
Futuristic cityscape scenes and updated visual effects
New musical score with callbacks to “Fun to Be Free”
That same high-speed outdoor finale thrill!
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: This one’s a Lightning Lane Multi Pass must-do. Book early to skip the long (and hot!) standby queue.
🧟♂️ Halloween Horror Nights 2025 — Death Eaters, Houses & Hype!
The Dark Lord’s followers are stirring once again! While not officially confirmed, it’s looking very likely that Death Eaters will return to Diagon Alley on select nights during Halloween Horror Nights—just like they did in 2024. Universal also just dropped a massive update with house reveals, show announcements, and more.

🎃 What We Know So Far:
Death Eaters expected to roam Diagon Alley (cue the spine-tingles!)
9 of the 10 haunted houses have been revealed
5 eerie scare zones scattered throughout the park
2 new shows rumored to be freakier than ever
A returning Tribute Store packed with horror-themed merch
We’ve been crowd-surfing Reddit threads, fan groups, and TikToks to see what fans think the mystery 10th haunted house might be—and the guesses are wild, from The Conjuring to Ghostbusters to something brand-new from Universal’s twisted imagination.
🎨 Goodbye, Star Wars Launch Bay — Hello, Magic of Disney Animation!
It’s the end of an era and the beginning of something beautifully new. This fall, Star Wars Launch Bay will close permanently on September 25, 2025 to make way for a reimagined version of The Magic of Disney Animation, returning to Hollywood Studios in 2026.
While it’s hard to say goodbye to the space that’s housed character meet-and-greets with Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and BB-8, we’re also incredibly excited about what’s coming next. Disney is going back to its roots—celebrating storytelling through animation with hands-on experiences, Pixar magic, and character encounters that feel deeply connected to Disney’s creative heart.

🧑🎨 Why We’re Excited:
Animation is the foundation of everything Disney does
We miss the old drawing classes and sneak peeks into the creative process
The chance to meet Pixar characters? Count us in!
🚨 Last Chance Alert: If you’ve never met Darth Vader or BB-8 in person, now is the time. Once Launch Bay closes, these classic Star Wars meet-and-greets are not expected to return in the same form.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: You’ll find Launch Bay meet-and-greets in the Animation Courtyard for now—but they’ll be gone after September 25. Don’t miss your chance to say farewell before the space transforms!

🎶 A New Verse for “it’s a small world”

In a heartfelt addition, a new third verse—written by Richard Sherman before his passing—was added on July 17, deepening the message of unity. It serves not only as a tribute to the Sherman Brothers and the profound impact they had on Disney music, but also as a celebration of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary. (Cue the earworm…)
Mother Earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.
This touching addition plays during the attraction’s finale and adds even more heart to a tune already full of hope. 💛
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: We’re sending our own Lyn to experience all the Disney buzz firsthand next week, —Starlight parade, GEO‑82, "it's a small world" updated song, BDX droids, and the new Test Track? 🚧 Tom Sawyer Island Closes to Make Way for Magic Kingdom Expansion
A big piece of Disney history just made way for something brand new! As of Monday, July 7, 2025, both Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Belle Riverboat are officially closed, and construction walls are now up around the Rivers of America.

Here’s what we know so far:
🚜 Construction has begun as Disney transforms the area into a new Cars-themed land
🎨 Concept art reveals a land inspired by Planes: Fire & Rescue, featuring:
Waterfalls and geysers
Ranger trails and a national park-style lodge
A lush, forested environment themed to Piston Peak
🎢 Two new rides are coming:
A family-friendly thrill ride with off-road rally vibes
A family fun attraction rumored to feature interactive, exploratory elements
⏳ No official timeline yet, but more updates may be shared at Destination D23 this August
We're a little sad to say goodbye to this piece of Walt Disney World history—Tom Sawyer Island was one of those old-school experiences that felt like stepping into another time. But we’re also incredibly excited for what’s next. With no official opening timeline yet, all eyes are on Disney’s next round of updates (possibly at Destination D23 in August) as we watch this transformation take shape!
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: If your little ones loved exploring the island’s caves and forts, keep an eye out for interactive adventure zones in the new land—they’re rumored to be part of the fun!
The holidays may still be months away, but Disney magic doesn’t wait! 🎄 Stay tuned for more festive news, and in the meantime, let’s start planning those candlelight parades and cookie strolls.

🚧 Last Chance: Tom Sawyer Island & Liberty Belle Closing July 7
Say goodbye to some Frontierland favorites before construction begins
Starting July 7, Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Belle Riverboat, and the surrounding Rivers of America will temporarily close to make way for Disney’s next major Magic Kingdom expansion.

If these are must-dos for your family, this is the final week to catch one last raft ride or scenic spin around the river before walls go up.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Ride the Liberty Belle during the golden hour for peaceful views and low crowds. It’s one of the park’s most relaxing experiences—and it's going away for a while!
🏞️ What’s Coming Next: Piston Peak National Park
This multi-year project will transform the back half of Frontierland into a Cars-themed land inspired by the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the iconic landscapes, lore, and adventure of America’s frontier and national parks. Expect new attractions, updated landscaping, and eventually a nighttime parade route.
🔎 Ride Alert: Buzz Lightyear Closing August 4
Tips for families on this upcoming closure
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is going down for a major refurbishment starting
August 4, 2025, with a new reimagining rumored to open in 2026. Expect updated tech, fresh animatronics, and revamped gameplay.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: If you’ve got a space ranger-in-training, prioritize this ride now before it goes dark for a long stretch.
📉 Summer Crowd Trends
Why June-July feels like WDW’s new shoulder season
According to crowd data from Thrill-Data, the summer crowds at Walt Disney World in 2025 have remained solidly average—never rising into "high" territory for any of the four parks.
Does that mean rides are walk-on? Absolutely not. But wait times have been mostly manageable—especially for guests who can handle the heat and plan smartly.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Beat the heat and the lines! Check out our Crowd Survival Guide and download our Beat the Heat Park Maps for the coolest shady spots and indoor breaks..
Reports this week show:
Easier dining reservations
Last-minute Lightning Lane availability
More elbow room at midday in most parks
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Want fewer crowds and better value? Now might be the time to plan that spontaneous summer trip.
🤝 Character Moves
Where to catch Daisy & who’s MIA now
Character locations are shuffling again this week:
🪤 Daisy’s Dig is now open inside Restaurantosaurus at Animal Kingdom—interactive, themed, and cool!
🧪 Phineas & Ferb pop-up meet at EPCOT has wrapped up its limited run.

🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: For a low-stress meet & greet, visit Daisy’s Dig during the first or last hour of the park day to avoid long lines.
