June 30, 2026 Update: Universal has been on a roll with Halloween Horror Nights announcements! Since our last update, they've revealed five new haunted houses: H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular, MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals, Cybergoria, INVASION: Alien Abduction, and the newly announced Hellraiser. These join the previously announced Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control, Stranger Things 5, and Sinners, bringing the total to eight of the ten haunted houses coming to Halloween Horror Nights 35. We'll continue updating this guide as Universal announces the final two houses and more event details.

It’s baaaaack! Halloween Horror Nights 2026 is returning to Universal Orlando Resort—and this year is shaping up to be a BIG one.
With 2026 marking the 35th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights, Universal already seems to be leaning hard into HHN lore, returning icons, and original storytelling in a way longtime fans are VERY excited about.
Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow are both returning this year, and early teasers suggest HHN 35 may center around a twisted carnival-style “chaos vs. control” theme tying the event together. If that ends up being true, this could become one of the most story-driven HHN years we’ve seen in a long time.
The screams are coming, but so is the mythos.
Whether you’re a die-hard horror fan or just here for the themed snacks and jump scares, this guide will help you plan your HHN visit from start to finish.
What’s New for Halloween Horror Nights 35?
Halloween Horror Nights 35 is already shaping up to feel different from recent years—and longtime HHN fans are paying attention.
Instead of focusing heavily on movie IP announcements first, Universal seems to be building this year around original HHN lore and returning icons.
So far, we already know:
Jack the Clown is returning
Dr. Oddfellow is back
Stranger Things is returning
New for HHN 35: Sinners – Club Juke
MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals - billed as the most horrifying house they have ever created
Universal is teasing a larger connected story theme for the event
If you’re newer to Halloween Horror Nights, don’t worry—you absolutely do NOT need to know all the HHN lore to enjoy the event. But for longtime fans this anniversary year already feels a little more personal.

👉 If you’re debating whether Express Pass is worth the extra cost, our full Universal Express Pass Guide breaks down when it actually saves time—and when it might not.
🕒 Stay & Scream (Early Entry Strategy)
One of the biggest advantages at Halloween Horror Nights is taking advantage of early entry—often referred to as “Stay & Scream.”
For HHN 35, Universal has shifted Scream Early admission even earlier, with guests now able to enter Universal Studios Florida starting at 2:00 p.m.
Pick up a wristband
Stay inside the park
Enter select haunted house queues before the event officially begins
Guests are typically able to start lining up for houses around 4:00 p.m., with some houses beginning to open shortly after—giving you a huge head start before general crowds enter.
This is a pretty significant change for strategy. That extra hour may not sound huge on paper, but during HHN it can completely change how many houses you finish before nighttime crowds fully build.
👉 We’ll continue to update this section if any changes are announced for 2026.
Did you know: You can also bundle Halloween Horror Nights into a full Universal Orlando vacation package, including daytime park tickets and hotel stays—perfect for extra savings and a little recovery time after all the screams.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: If you are already in Universal Studios Florida using a regular park ticket that day, you do not need to have a Stay & Scream ticket. Guests already in the park are allowed to queue up early with the Stay & Scream ticket holders.

🧟 Haunted Houses: What We Know So Far (2026)

:
🏚️ First Confirmed Haunted House
House #1 Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control

Universal's first house announcement for HHN 35 brings together two of Halloween Horror Nights' most iconic original characters. According to Universal, guests will step into a twisted carnival where Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow battle for control, unleashing their own brands of chaos and terror.
Because this is an original HHN concept, many longtime fans believe the house could play a major role in this year's overall event storyline, making it one to watch throughout the season.
House #2 Announced: Sinners – Club Juke

Universal's second haunted house is inspired by the Oscar-winning horror film Sinners. Guests will enter Club Juke, where they'll come face-to-face with the film's vampires and other terrifying characters while fighting to survive until sunrise.
This house will be featured at both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, making it one of the biggest licensed IP announcements of the season.
With 2026 marking the 35th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights, early teasers suggest this could be a more story-driven year, featuring returning icons and deeper ties to HHN lore.
House #3 Announced: Stranger Things 5

June 17, 2026 the next house was released, bringing back one of Halloween Horror Nights' most popular franchises for another year. Universal has confirmed an all-new Stranger Things 5 haunted house based on the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series.
Guests will journey through familiar locations including the Wheeler House, Hawkins National Laboratory, the Upside Down, and the mysterious Abyss while encountering Vecna, Demogorgons, and other terrifying creatures from the series' epic conclusion. The house will debut at both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.
House #4 Announced: MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals

Universal has announced another original house for Halloween Horror Nights 35, and this one sounds intense. MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals drops guests into a post-apocalyptic world where almost all life has disappeared, forcing humans to hunt each other to survive.
The house is set in the ruins of an old zoo, where a tribe of cannibals has taken over and guests quickly become the prey. Between the abandoned zoo setting, animalistic hunters, and Universal teasing this as one of the more aggressive houses of the season, this one is definitely going on our “brace yourself” list. (That's a hard nope from me!)
House #5 H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular

Fan-favorite horror host H.R. Bloodengutz is back for one last terrifying broadcast! Fifteen years after his infamous Halloween Horror Nights debut, the escaped television host returns to the abandoned WKNB station to unleash a late-night scare-a-thon filled with monsters, gore, and the twisted B-movie horrors that made him a cult favorite. MWAHAHAHA! If you love classic creature features with a campy HHN twist, this one looks like it will be a must-see.
House #6 Cybergoria

Thousands of years in the future, humanity has awakened to a nightmare. In this futuristic sci-fi haunted house, machines that were created to make humans immortal have instead begun harvesting their flesh and replacing it with synthetic parts. Expect a chilling blend of cyberpunk aesthetics, artificial intelligence gone wrong, and body horror unlike anything else at Halloween Horror Nights this year.
House #7 INVASION: Alien Abduction

Universal continues to lean into the Sci-Fi horror theme. The truth is out there...and it's coming for you. Set at a remote rural homestead, INVASION: Alien Abduction drops guests into the middle of an extraterrestrial attack as a ship full of Grays descends in search of fresh human test subjects. With mysterious lights, terrifying encounters, and nowhere to hide, this original house promises a suspense-filled journey into classic alien horror.
House #8 Hellraiser

One of horror's most iconic franchises is finally coming to Halloween Horror Nights. Inspired by the first three Hellraiser films, this haunted house will take guests through unforgettable locations like Frank Cotton's attic, the Channard Institute, and the Labyrinth, where Pinhead and the Cenobites await. Even better, Doug Bradley returns to provide new voice work as Pinhead, making this a dream announcement for longtime horror fans, or so college boy has informed us.
What to Expect from HHN Houses
If this is your first time visiting Halloween Horror Nights, here’s what you can typically expect from the haunted house lineup:
10 total houses spread throughout the park
A mix of:
IP houses based on movies, shows, or games
Original houses created by Universal’s creative team
Highly immersive sets, sound design, and scare actors
Walk-through experiences (not rides), usually lasting 5–10 minutes
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Don’t skip the original houses! While the big-name IPs tend to get the most attention, some of the highest-rated houses each year are Universal’s original concepts.
👉 At this point, you’ve got the overview—but how you plan your night can make a huge difference. Your strategy (and timing) can completely change how many houses you experience—and how long you’re waiting in line. Keep reading for tips on how to make the most of your HHN night
🏚️ Haunted House Rankings & Fan Favorites (Coming Soon)

Once Halloween Horror Nights 2026 begins, we’ll be tracking early reviews, fan reactions, and ranking this year’s haunted houses based on scares, storytelling, and overall experience.
👉 Check back here after opening weekend for:
Our full house rankings

The scariest vs. most creative houses
What’s worth prioritizing (and what you can skip)
💬 What Guests Typically Say Each Year
Every HHN season brings a mix of opinions—some houses become instant fan favorites, while others spark debate:
“This is the scariest house I’ve ever done.”
“That one was more atmosphere than scares.”
“The originals were better than the IPs this year.”
🧚♀️ Real talk: only Kim (and our very brave college kid) actually go through the houses every year. Lyn and I? We’re firmly team “nope” 😂—so we rely on their experiences and what fans are saying to help you plan.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: There’s no single “best” house—what terrifies one person might feel mild to another. The real fun is comparing favorites after you survive them all. 👀
What We’re Still Waiting On
Even with tickets now on sale, Universal still has quite a few HHN 35 details under wraps.
Here’s what we’re still waiting to learn:
Additional haunted house announcements
Scare zone themes
Full food and drink lineup
Tribute Store theme reveal
More details about Premium Scream Night
Entertainment and stage shows
Even more IP announcements
HHN announcements tend to ramp up quickly over the summer, so expect this guide to change A LOT between now and August.
🎯 How to Approach the Houses (Pro Tips)
Bring a poncho (or wear quick-dry clothes)—some houses and scare zones may include water effects, and you never know when you might get splashed. 👀
Tackle the most popular houses first at the start of the night—or save them for the very end when lines tend to drop.
Don’t skip the original houses! While the big-name IPs get the most attention, Universal’s original concepts are often some of the most creative (and best-reviewed) experiences of the event.
🛍️ HHN Tribute Store

Each year, Halloween Horror Nights features a themed Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida—and it’s one of the most underrated experiences of the event.
These immersive retail spaces are much more than just shops. Expect highly themed rooms, detailed storytelling, and plenty of hidden Easter eggs tied to HHN lore.
Inside, you’ll typically find:
Merchandise themed to the year’s haunted houses
Event icons and fan-favorite characters
Collectible items, apparel, and exclusive souvenirs
👉 The Tribute Store usually opens ahead of the event and is often located in the New York section of the park—but exact themes and locations change each year.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Don’t rush through this—take your time and explore. The Tribute Store is often as detailed and immersive as a haunted house (just without the jump scares 👀).
🧟 Scare Zones & Street Experiences
One of the most immersive parts of Halloween Horror Nights happens outside the haunted houses—in the scare zones and street experiences throughout Universal Studios Florida.
While the official scare zones for 2026 haven’t been announced yet, HHN typically features multiple themed zones spread across the park, each with its own story, characters, and atmosphere.
As you walk between houses, you’ll encounter:
Roaming scare actors
Themed lighting, music, and fog
Pop-up scares and interactive moments
Fully immersive environments that bring the horror into every corner of the park
👉 Each zone has its own unique vibe—some lean more atmospheric, while others deliver constant jump scares.
🎭 Street Experiences
In addition to scare zones, HHN often includes roaming performers and street-style entertainment that can pop up throughout the night.
Last year’s Premium Scream Night ended up becoming surprisingly popular with repeat HHN guests because of the lower crowds and more relaxed pace. Universal also appears to be tightening attendance limits a bit this year after crowd complaints during earlier versions of the event.
If your goal is to experience as many houses as possible without spending the entire night in lines, this may actually become one of the better splurge options for HHN 35.
👉 You never quite know where the next scare is coming from—which is part of what makes HHN so fun (and a little unpredictable 👀)
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip:If you’re not a fan of jump scares, stick to the edges of the street and stay aware of your surroundings—scare actors LOVE to target distracted guests in the middle of the crowd.
🍴 Food & Drinks at Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror Nights isn’t just about haunted houses and scare zones—it’s also a full-on foodie fright fest. Each year, Universal Orlando Resort rolls out exclusive eats, over-the-top desserts, and specialty cocktails themed to the event, with food booths scattered throughout the park.

Here’s a taste of what you can typically expect:
Savory Favorites
Yes, the legendary pizza fries are almost always a staple! You’ll also find creative spins on comfort food like loaded nachos, specialty hot dogs, and themed mac & cheese dishes.
Sweet Treats
Keep an eye out for creepy-cute desserts, themed donuts, and over-the-top sundaes that are just as fun to photograph as they are to eat.
Signature Drinks
Themed cocktails (many served in glowing or collectible cups) headline the drink menus. Expect everything from tropical rum punches to spooky seasonal creations—plus non-alcoholic options so everyone can join in.
Exclusive Collectibles
Specialty souvenir cups and themed drinkware are usually available and make fun take-home souvenirs from the event.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Food booths typically open right around event start—when most guests are rushing to the first haunted houses. If you want shorter lines, grab a snack early or while crowds are focused on rides and houses.
👉 We’ll update this section with the full 2026 food lineup, menus, and must-try items once they’re announced.
🎭 Shows & Entertainment
In addition to haunted houses and scare zones, Halloween Horror Nights typically features live entertainment included with your event admission.
While the 2026 show lineup hasn’t been announced yet, HHN often includes:
High-energy stage shows with stunts, fire effects, and aerial performances
Lagoon or projection-style shows with music, lighting, and storytelling
Entertainment that offers a break from the intensity of the haunted houses
These shows are a great way to reset during the night—especially if you need a break from constant jump scares or want to experience a different side of the event.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: If there’s a show you want to see, check the schedule early in the night and plan around it—popular showtimes can fill up quickly.

🧙♂️ Death Eaters in Diagon Alley (What to Expect)

One of the most immersive—and slightly unsettling—experiences at Halloween Horror Nights takes place inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
While not officially confirmed for 2026 just yet, but with HHN 35 leaning heavily into immersive storytelling and returning fan-favorite experiences, many fans expect the Death Eaters to return again this year.
💬 From Our ExperienceThe Death Eaters encounter is one of Kim and our college kid’s favorite parts of HHN each year—and they always make it a priority at the start of the night.

They’ve found that even if you have to wait a little bit early on, the interactions feel much more personal before the area fills in later. As the night goes on, it becomes more crowded and a bit harder to catch those one-on-one moments.
🧙♀️ What to Expect
If this experience returns, guests can typically look forward to:
Roaming interactions throughout Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley, with Death Eaters challenging guests and casting spells
Atmospheric mini-shows with dramatic lighting, fog, and wand duels
Immersive ambiance—from whispered threats to sudden appearances in darkened alleyways
👉 It’s less of a structured show and more of a living, breathing part of the environment—which makes it feel even more unpredictable 👀
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: These encounters aren’t always listed on the official schedule, so your best bet is to linger in Diagon Alley in the early evening and keep your camera ready. The wand-wielding followers of Voldemort love to appear when (and where) you least expect them.

😱 Scaredy-Cat? We’ve Got You Covered!
If you love the atmosphere of Halloween Horror Nights but aren’t a fan of constant jump scares, there may be a way to make the experience a little more manageable.
In recent years, Universal has offered a “no-scare” style lanyard (often referred to as a “Deathly Afraid” necklace) that signals to scare actors in scare zones and common areas to ease up on targeting you.
👉 While this option hasn’t been confirmed for 2026 yet, it’s something to keep an eye out for if you’re visiting with less thrill-seeking members of your group.
Just keep in mind:
It typically does not apply inside haunted houses
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: The necklace won’t make you invisible, but it does give you more control over your HHN experience—especially if you’re visiting with braver friends or teens.
💀 Final Thoughts
Halloween Horror Nights 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year at Universal Orlando Resort—especially with this being the 35th anniversary of the event. 👀
Between the returning icons, anniversary-year hype, earlier start date, and the first original house already announced, HHN 35 is starting to feel less like a normal HHN season… and more like a celebration of HHN history itself. This year could get VERY popular once more house announcements start dropping.
Whether you’re braving the fog for the first time or returning for your annual scare fix, HHN is one of those events that’s equal parts thrilling, immersive, and just a little chaotic, in the best way.
We’ll continue updating this guide as more information is released, so be sure to check back as we get closer to spooky season. 🎃
