On Kim’s birthday trip, Lyn treated both of them to a spa afternoon, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and luxurious experiences of their entire vacation.

🌿 What to Expect at the Grand Floridian Spa
Your visit begins in a serene relaxation lounge, where soft lighting, gentle music, and the scent of botanicals immediately set the mood. You’ll receive a private locker, plush robe, and slippers before being escorted through the tranquil spa spaces.
At check-in, guests choose a colored stone representing different intentions (calm, creativity, balance, etc.) and place it into a communal terrarium decorated with Hidden Mickeys — a charming Disney touch.

When Lyn and Kim visited, soft piano versions of Disney classics played in the background (they caught “Into the Unknown” 🎶), instantly setting a peaceful tone.

They arrived right on time - after a longer-than-expected Safari line and a slow transportation morning - and were immediately welcomed with the stone ritual and a warm Cast Member greeting.
After slipping into robes and sandals, they were called back for their 50-minute Mango Massages, which they described as heavenly. Post-treatment, they sipped tea and nibbled on banana chips in the lounge, basking in the calm atmosphere. Because it was hot and humid outside, they skipped the sauna and steam room—but agreed they’d love to try the whirlpool next time.

After their treatments, I met back up with Lyn and Kim, and we continued our “relaxation afternoon” with a short monorail ride to the Steakhouse 71 Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary Resort—their tradition after spa visits. A light lunch and celebratory cocktail made the perfect finale to an indulgent morning.

If you’re staying near EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Mandara Spa at the Walt Disney World Dolphin is another wonderful place to unwind. This 10,500-square-foot, Balinese-inspired spa offers a full menu of massages, facials, body treatments, and salon services in a serene, tropical setting.
The atmosphere is very different from the Grand Floridian Spa—Mandara leans into exotic, Southeast Asian theming with tranquil meditation lounges, rich woods, and fragrant aromatherapy.
