Have you ever visited Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa? It’s the epitome of Disney Deluxe Resort elegance—and one of the best places on property…
On Kim’s birthday trip, Lyn treated both of them to a spa afternoon, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and luxurious experiences of their entire vacation.
Want to learn more about Disney's Grand Floridian and other Disney Deluxe Hotels, plus a deeper dive into whether splurging on a deluxe stay is worth it? Our Deluxe Resort and Villas Guide has all the deets.

🌿 What to Expect at the Grand Floridian Spa
Your visit begins in a serene relaxation lounge, where soft lighting, gentle music, and the scent of botanicals immediately set the mood. You’ll receive a private locker, plush robe, and slippers before being escorted through the tranquil spa spaces.
At check-in, guests choose a colored stone representing different intentions (calm, creativity, balance, etc.) and place it into a communal terrarium decorated with Hidden Mickeys — a charming Disney touch.

Included amenities:
Sauna
Steam room
Whirlpool
Relaxation lounge with tea, nuts, and banana chips
Showers and dressing area stocked with mouthwash, disposable brushes, hairspray, and makeup wipes
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Arrive at least 30 minutes early to unwind, enjoy the amenities, and ease into your treatment. If you’re taking Disney transportation, build in extra time—it’s easy to underestimate those monorail or bus waits!
When Lyn and Kim visited, soft piano versions of Disney classics played in the background (they caught “Into the Unknown” 🎶), instantly setting a peaceful tone.
🧖♀️ Lyn & Kim’s Spa Experience
They arrived right on time - after a longer-than-expected Safari line and a slow transportation morning - and were immediately welcomed with the stone ritual and a warm Cast Member greeting.
After slipping into robes and sandals, they were called back for their 50-minute Mango Massages, which they described as heavenly. Post-treatment, they sipped tea and nibbled on banana chips in the lounge, basking in the calm atmosphere. Because it was hot and humid outside, they skipped the sauna and steam room—but agreed they’d love to try the whirlpool next time.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: If you plan to use the whirlpool or sauna, bring a swimsuit in your day bag—it’s worth it!

🍹 Post-Spa Bliss
After their treatments, I met back up with Lyn and Kim, and we continued our “relaxation afternoon” with a short monorail ride to the Steakhouse 71 Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary Resort—their tradition after spa visits. A light lunch and celebratory cocktail made the perfect finale to an indulgent morning.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Why not end your spa day with a special treat and dine at a Disney Signature Restaurant Guide?
🌺 Looking for Another Spa Option at Walt Disney World?
If you’re staying near EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Mandara Spa at the Walt Disney World Dolphin is another wonderful place to unwind. This 10,500-square-foot, Balinese-inspired spa offers a full menu of massages, facials, body treatments, and salon services in a serene, tropical setting.
The atmosphere is very different from the Grand Floridian Spa—Mandara leans into exotic, Southeast Asian theming with tranquil meditation lounges, rich woods, and fragrant aromatherapy. It’s a peaceful retreat and an especially convenient choice for guests staying in the EPCOT Resort Area (BoardWalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan, and Dolphin).
If your ideal spa day includes a more globally inspired ambiance or you’re staying close by, Mandara Spa is absolutely worth a look.
🎯 Our Take: Is the Grand Floridian Spa Worth the Splurge?
For Lyn and Kim, this was hands-down one of the most rejuvenating experiences of their entire trip. The Grand Floridian Spa delivers that signature Disney blend of comfort, luxury, and thoughtful detail.

Why we recommend it:
Calming, beautifully designed atmosphere
Attentive and skilled massage therapists
Little Disney touches like the stone terrarium and soft instrumental park music
Convenient location—easy to reach via monorail
Perfect mid-trip reset between park marathons
When to skip:
You’re on a tight schedule or budget
You prefer lounging by the pool to spa time
You don’t plan to use the included amenities
But for couples, solo travelers, or anyone celebrating a special occasion, the Grand Floridian Spa is a truly magical indulgence that lives up to its reputation—and then some.
