Walt Disney World is always evolving—refurbishing beloved attractions, debuting new experiences, and updating resort spaces to keep the magic fresh. But nobody wants to show up for their dream trip and find their favorite ride unexpectedly closed. 😱
This guide is your go-to resource for ride closures, hotel refurbishments, and reimagined experiences happening now and coming soon across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, the resorts, and water parks.
We update this list weekly to help you plan smarter. Bookmark it, check back often, and keep that itinerary flexible!

Transportation
Disney's Skyliner - closed for maintenance from January 24 - 30, 2027. Complimentary bus transportation will be provided. And again January 24–February 2, 2028. Complimentary bus transportation will be provided.
Animal Kingdom – Current & Upcoming Closures
DinoLand U.S.A. Permanently closed February 2, 2026, to make way for the Tropical Americas area, including new Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions. Opening in phases beginning in 2027.
Magic Kingdom – Current & Upcoming Closures
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress — Closed July 6, 2026, for a major reimagining. Expected to reopen in late spring 2027.
Walt Disney World Railroad — Currently operating a limited shuttle route between Main Street U.S.A. and Fantasyland because Frontierland Station is closed. The entire railroad will temporarily close September 28–October 29, 2026, and is expected to reopen October 30.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — Closing November 2, 2026, for routine refurbishment and expected to reopen sometime in December. Tiana’s Bayou General will also close during the refurbishment.
Tom Sawyer Island and Liberty Square Riverboat — Permanently closed July 7, 2025, to make way for Piston Peak National Park.
EPCOT – Current & Upcoming Closures
La Signature — Closed June 29, 2026, for refurbishment and expected to reopen later in 2026. Guerlain merchandise remains available at Plume et Palette.
Coral Reef Restaurant — Closed for planned maintenance September 8–November 3, 2026, and currently scheduled to reopen November 4.
Hollywood Studios – Current & Upcoming Closures
All Areas of the Muppet Courtyard Including Mama Melrose, PizzaRizzo, and Muppet*Vision 3D are permanently closed to make way for the new Monstropolis area. Opening TBA.

Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Refurbishments
All-Star Movies
Guest rooms are undergoing phased refurbishment through January 2027. The resort remains open, but guests may see construction and encounter alternate walking paths.
All-Star Sports
Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar will close September 18 through mid-December 2026. A temporary pool bar will be available nearby.
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Jambo House Guest Rooms will be undergoing refurbishment - from May 2026 - January 2027
Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village
Phased lobby and entrance refurbishment through early November 2026. The main lobby and primary entrance are closed through October 9, with check-in temporarily relocated. Additional lobby areas and amenities will be affected in phases.
Art of Animation
Major room refurbishment beginning mid-June 2027 through October 2028 for both Art of Animation Family Suites and Little Mermaid rooms. The resort will remain open during phased construction.
Beach Club Resort
Has ongoing exterior maintenance through late 2027 and phased Beach Club Villas lobby maintenance through mid-September 2026.
BoardWalk Inn
Ongoing maintenance throughout 2026
Luna Park Pool and Play Area January 11, 2027 - April 2027 will be closed for routine maintenance
Leaping Horse Libations January 11, 2027 - April 2027 will be closed for routine maintenance
Caribbean Beach Resort
exterior painting and column repairs at Barbados Buildings 31, 32 and 33 from August 31, 2026, through early February 2027.
Contemporary Resort
Bay Lake Tower and Convention Center Refurbishment work continues in select areas, including Bay Lake Tower, the Main Tower and atrium, through late 2027. Main Tower exterior work may affect views and walking routes
Coronado Springs Resort
Convention Center, El Centro Corridor and surrounding-area refurbishment from August 10, 2026, through late September 2027.
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Ongoing work in select areas, including the covered entrance, through early 2027
Grand Floridian Café closed through October 2026; brunch is temporarily served at Cítricos.
Old Key West Resort
Hospitality House exterior work through mid-September 2026 and temporary suspension of Sassagoula River Cruise service
Polynesian Village Resort
Exterior and road refurbishment through 2026
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace closed through late October 2026; Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto remains open.
Port Orleans - French Quarter
Scat Cat’s Club Café and Lounge closing October 6. The café is expected back in December 2026 and the lounge in January 2027. Beignets and coffee will temporarily move to Sassagoula Floatworks.
Port Orleans – Riverside
Room refurbishments are ongoing through August 2027
Saratoga Springs
Treehouse Villas and porte-cochère work through fall 2026. The Turf Club Bar & Grill is closed through late September while the lounge remains open.
Wilderness Lodge (including Copper Creek Villas)
Exterior renovations through late 2026
Phased Wilderness Lodge room refurbishment from July through September 2027.
Yacht Club
Undergoing routine exterior maintenance through late 2026
Water Parks – Current Status
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon — Open through September 8, 2026. Temporarily closing for seasonal refurbishment beginning September 9; reopening date TBA.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach — Open.
Slush Gusher at Blizzard Beach — Temporarily unavailable; reopening date TBA.
