Planning a Trip with Disabilities
Planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort with a disability or accessibility need? This guide is designed to help you plan with confidence—covering wheelchair and ECV access, attraction boarding, sensory considerations, rest areas, and service animal policies.
Whether you’re navigating limited mobility, sensory sensitivities, neurodivergent needs, or other accessibility considerations, you’ll find practical tips, firsthand insights, and planning resources to help create a more inclusive and enjoyable Universal Orlando vacation. - Updated February 2026

In the fall of 2025, Universal Orlando has updated its disability access policies, narrowing the criteria for its Attraction Assistance Program and placing greater emphasis on alternative accommodations—a shift similar to changes made at other theme parks. Guests seeking additional support beyond standard accessibility features are now required to register through the IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card (IAC) process prior to their visit.

What began for us as an unexpected need during a past visit has since become firsthand experience using both wheelchairs and ECVs at Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe. Over the last year, we’ve navigated attractions, queues, dining locations, and transportation with mobility devices—and learned what truly works (and what doesn’t).
In this section, we’ll walk through rental options, park navigation, ride access, and real-world tips to help you plan a smoother Universal Orlando visit when using a wheelchair or ECV.
