Halloween Horror Nights 35 Map preview

The Practically Perfect Pixie Dust fam only started dipping our toes into the Halloween Horror Nights world a few years ago. Kim and College Boy are the horror fans in our family, so they have been the brave ones heading into the fog while Bren and Lyn, our resident scaredy-cats, stay somewhere safely out of chainsaw range.

Kim and College Boy love the spooky atmosphere, the elaborate houses and the general mayhem of HHN. They are also, affectionately, the travel princesses of our group. They enjoy an adventure much more when someone else has already figured out where they are going, what time things open and how to avoid walking back and forth across a theme park five unnecessary times.

Naturally, we started researching. The more we learned about Halloween Horror Nights, the more we realized that navigating the event is not quite as simple as following the regular Universal Studios Florida park map. Many of the haunted houses are located inside soundstages, tents and backstage areas. Their entrances can be surprisingly far from the buildings where the houses are actually located.

This year added another planning wrinkle: houses open at four different times for eligible Stay & Scream and Scream Early guests.

That is why we created our printable HHN 35 map. We wanted one easy visual guide that showed where the houses, scare zones, entertainment and open attractions are located, along with the different house-opening times. It helps Kim and College Boy plan their evening, and we hope it makes your night in the fog a little easier too.

PPPD’s printable Halloween Horror Nights 35 map, updated August 2026

Our HHN 35 map includes:

  • All 10 haunted house entrances

  • Scheduled house-opening times

  • All four scare zones

  • Live entertainment locations

  • Attractions operating during HHN

  • The HHN Tribute Store

  • The main HHN entrance and park exit

We placed the house markers near the entrances guests will actually use. This is important because several houses are located in backstage buildings, and the place where you enter the queue may not be where you would expect it to be.

Important Early Entry Note: The color-coded house-opening times apply only to eligible Stay & Scream and Scream Early guests with valid same-night HHN admission. If you have only a regular HHN ticket, you can still use the map to plan your route, but you will not have access to these early opening waves. Learn more about tickets, Stay & Scream and Scream Early in our complete HHN 35 Guide.

How to Read the House-Opening Colors

The haunted house markers are color-coded according to their scheduled opening times for Stay & Scream and Scream Early guests.

The colors do not tell you which houses are the scariest. We are leaving that particular argument to people braver than Bren and Lyn.

Purple: Scheduled to Open at 2:00 p.m.

Queues for these houses may begin forming at 1:00 p.m.

  • Stranger Things 5

  • Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control

  • Hellraiser

Green: Scheduled to Open at 5:15 p.m.

Queues for these houses may begin forming at 4:00 p.m.

  • Sinners

  • Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness

Yellow: Scheduled to Open at 5:45 p.m.

  • H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!

  • Evil Dead Burn

  • Cybergoria

Red: Scheduled to Open at 6:00 p.m.

  • INVASION: Alien Abduction

  • MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals

Halloween Horror Nights officially begins at 6:30 p.m., when all 10 houses are scheduled to be open. House-opening times can change because of weather, technical issues or other operational adjustments.

Stay & Scream and Scream Early: What Is the Difference?

The names are similar enough to be confusing, so here is the tea.

Stay & Scream

Stay & Scream is for guests who are already inside Universal Studios Florida during regular park hours.

To participate, you need:

  • Valid daytime admission to Universal Studios Florida or an eligible Annual Pass

  • A valid Halloween Horror Nights ticket for the same night

  • A Stay & Scream wristband

Once you have your wristband, you can remain inside the park as Universal transitions from regular daytime operations to Halloween Horror Nights. Eligible guests can then access the houses as they begin opening.

Scream Early

A Scream Early ticket is for guests who do not otherwise have daytime park admission but want to access Stay & Scream.

The Scream Early ticket allows you to enter Universal Studios Florida beginning at 2:00 p.m. You must enter before 5:00 p.m. and still need a separate Halloween Horror Nights ticket for the same night.

🧚 Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Do not assume that purchasing an HHN ticket automatically includes early entry. Check exactly which admission you have before building your plan around a 2:00 p.m. house.

Can I use this map if I do not have Stay & Scream?

Yes. The map shows the house entrances, scare zones, entertainment and attractions for all HHN guests. The color-coded opening times apply only to eligible Stay & Scream and Scream Early guests.

How We Would Use the Map to Plan an HHN Night

Kim and College Boy are our family’s HHN representatives. Bren and Lyn prefer to offer planning assistance from safely outside the fog.

The map is not meant to lock you into one rigid route. Wait times will change, houses can be delayed and someone will inevitably decide that it is time for a snack.

Instead, use it to make a flexible plan before you arrive.

Pick Your Must-Do Houses

Ask everyone in your group to choose the houses that matter most to them. Try to narrow the combined list down to three or four true priorities.

If every house is labeled a must-do, you have not actually made any decisions. You have simply given yourself a very ambitious to-do list.

Once you have your priorities, look at where they are located and when they are scheduled to open. This will help you decide which part of the park makes the most sense for your starting point.

Look at What Is Nearby

Several houses are entered near the front of the park and New York, while others are accessed through San Francisco, Springfield and World Expo.

You do not have to visit every nearby house before moving on, but the map makes it easier to spot when two of your priority houses are close together. Visiting both before crossing the park can save time, energy and a surprising number of steps.

Use the Opening Times as Options, Not Instructions

The colors show which houses are scheduled to become available first. They do not mean that everyone should visit the houses in purple-green-yellow-red order. A popular 2:00 p.m. house may already have a significant line when you arrive. A house opening later could have a much more manageable wait. Your best choice will depend on your priorities, your location and what is happening in the park at that moment.

This is where the Universal Orlando app becomes important. Use our map to understand the overall layout, then check live wait times before hiking to the opposite side of the park.

Remember That Scare Zones Are Along Your Route

The scare zones are built into pathways you may need to use as you move between houses, shows and attractions. You will probably experience several of them naturally rather than checking them off as completely separate stops.

If someone in your group is uneasy about scare zones, the map can help them see where those areas are located ahead of time. Universal also sells a Deathly Afraid light-up lanyard for $20, which signals to scareactors that the wearer would prefer not to be targeted in scare zones and other common areas. The lanyard can make the outdoor experience feel less intense, but it is a signal, not an invisible force field. It does not guarantee a scare-free experience and does not apply inside the haunted houses. Still, combining the lanyard with a little advance knowledge from the map can give a nervous guest more confidence while navigating the event.

Make Room for Breaks and Other Experiences

Ten houses are a lot, but the event also includes scare zones, entertainment, themed food, merchandise and regular Universal attractions.

Leave some breathing room in your plan. Even the most dedicated horror fan may eventually need a drink, a bathroom break or five quiet minutes without anyone leaping out of a dark corner.

Use Our Map Before Your Visit and the Universal App During the Event

The Universal Orlando app has the most current wait times, showtimes and operational information. It is the tool you will want once you are inside the event.

However, we find it much easier to make an initial plan when we can see everything together on one map. You can look at the house locations, compare opening times and get a feel for how the event is spread around Universal Studios Florida before you are standing in the middle of the fog trying to make a group decision.

To find the official event map, open the Universal Orlando app and select Halloween Horror Nights 2026 from the home screen. Choose any event category, then select View Event Map at the bottom. You can also open the regular park map and filter it to show haunted houses.

Our printable map is the planning tool. The Universal app helps you adjust that plan once real life and several thousand other horror fans get involved.

More Halloween Horror Nights Planning Help

Our map will help you get your bearings, but we have plenty more planning information for your night at HHN.

A map cannot eliminate every line or prevent a scare-actor from finding you at precisely the wrong moment. It can, however, help you spend less time figuring out where you are going and more time enjoying the event.

That is good news for Kim and College Boy. Bren and Lyn will continue providing moral support from a comfortable, well-lit location.

🧚 Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Download the map to your phone before your visit, even if you plan to bring a printed copy. Theme park paperwork has an unfortunate habit of disappearing into the bottom of a bag at exactly the wrong time.

Pixie Dust Hugs,

Bren, Lyn, and Kim 🧚
