Updated November 7, 2025 — Disney is using only a Standby queue and Lightning Lane Multi Pass access for Zootopia: Better Zoogether as of opening day.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether officially opens November 7, 2025 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But ahead of opening day, Disney is using a Virtual Queue to manage Annual Passholder Preview demand on November 5–6.

This opening is a big deal — it’s the first new headliner inside Animal Kingdom in years, and demand is going to spike hard. And honestly? With Dinoland U.S.A. in active transition, Animal Kingdom really needs a big win to keep guests excited.
If you want a quick refresher on everything you can do in the park right now, here’s our Animal Kingdom Attractions Guide (with 2025 updates).
Disney often uses Virtual Queues to manage opening-week crowd flow (Guardians! TRON! Or even the Journey of Water: Inspired by Moana). So even though we only have confirmed VQ details for AP previews… it is possible we could see some type of queue management continue into opening weekend and a little beyond.

Below — what you need to know, step-by-step, to grab a Boarding Group
Virtual Queue — How & When It Opens
Disney has confirmed a Virtual Queue for this new show via My Disney Experience.
For Passholder Preview Days (Nov 5–6):
First drop: 7:00am — requires a park reservation for Animal Kingdom
Second drop: 1:00pm — valid AP admission required, but park reservation NOT required to join the queue
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: For the 7am drop, load MDE by 6:55am — boarding groups go FAST for any new attraction or show.
For general public (starting Nov 7): Disney has NOT confirmed if virtual queue continues beyond previews. Currently, we expect:
Virtual queue may continue during opening weekend
Standby is confirmed to be available
Lightning Lane will be offered via Multi Pass and Premier Pass — we’ve seen it already appear in the MDE Multi Pass booking menu. However: a confirmed “start time” for when Lightning Lane becomes bookable has NOT been published yet.

Step-by-Step: How to Join the Virtual Queue
Open My Disney Experience (be logged in already)
Tap “Virtual Queues” (Home > Virtual Queue)
Select “Zootopia: Better Zoogether”
At 7am or 1pm drop — tap JOIN immediately when button appears
If successful, you’ll get a Boarding Group number and return time estimate

🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Don’t try to refresh the entire page. Rapid-tap the “Refresh” icon right inside the Virtual Queue pane. Speed matters.

Early Preview Buzz
Early reactions from AP previews have been mostly positive — guests are calling the visuals brighter, the Zoogether Day storyline fun and energetic, and the Zootopia character moments a big win for families. Some longtime fans of It’s Tough to Be a Bug! say they miss the deeper conservation message — but overall this show is already landing as a more playful, more approachable experience.
We've rounded up more early reactions (plus all the opening-day food, merch, new character meet & greets, and mini-celebration details) in my main Zootopia: Better Zoogether! post.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether is going to be a major Animal Kingdom anchor — and previews are already showing strong demand. Right now, Virtual Queue is the ONLY confirmed access method on November 5–6. Once Disney clarifies whether VQ continues past previews — and when Lightning Lane times actually go live in MDE — I’ll update this post immediately so you can plan your Animal Kingdom day with real strategy instead of guessing.
