Universal Orlando transforms into a festive paradise every year — and 2025 is bigger, brighter, and merrier than ever, especially with Epic Universe celebrating its very first holiday season. From the iconic Macy’s-style parade to Grinchmas hijinks and magical winter moments in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this is one of the most joyful times to visit the resort.

What’s New for 2026

What's New for Universal Orlando Holidays 2026?

There are some genuinely exciting changes coming to Universal Orlando for the 2026 holiday season.

The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle Returns

This may be our favorite piece of 2026 holiday news.

The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle is officially returning to Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure. The nighttime spectacular uses projections and special effects across Hogwarts Castle to bring holiday moments from the Harry Potter films to life.

We have missed this one, and its return gives Islands of Adventure a major nighttime holiday experience again.

More Christmas Comes to Epic Universe

Epic Universe celebrated its first holiday season in 2025, but Universal is expanding the celebration for 2026.

For the first time, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will receive special holiday décor.

Celestial Park will also return as a cosmic winter wonderland, complete with twinkling trees and holiday-themed fountain displays at the Cosmos Fountain throughout the day.

And Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will once again extend to the Ministry of Magic, meaning guests can experience Wizarding World holiday touches across all three Universal theme parks.

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: We expect Universal to release more detailed entertainment, food and character information as we get closer to November. We will keep this guide updated as those details arrive.

And yes — the Holiday Tribute Store will be back! This year’s version features all-new themed rooms, immersive set pieces, and plenty of seasonal merch you’ll only find during the holidays. It’s part shopping, part walkthrough attraction, and always worth a stop.

Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s

Universal’s fan-favorite holiday parade is back, think towering balloons, classic holiday floats, high-energy dancers, and character appearances from Despicable Me, Shrek, and Madagascar.

  • The parade runs evert evening (times sometimes do vary, so definitely double-check the Universal Orlando app on the day of your visit).

  • Best viewing spots: We love the area around Mel’s Drive-In for wide-open views, and The Today Café for a great blend of atmosphere and photo angles.

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Crowds tend to gather near the front of the park. For a more relaxed experience, head a little deeper into Production Central or New York — you’ll usually find lighter crowds and easier spots to slip into last minute.

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley

Universal has confirmed holiday-themed entertainment at all three Wizarding World locations for 2026. More detailed show schedules and seasonal food offerings should be released closer to the start of the event.

And, if this year is anything like previous years whatever you do, don’t miss Diagon Alley after dark. Once the sun sets, the lanterns glow warmer, the shop windows sparkle brighter, and tucked-away corners like Horizont Alley take on a cozy, atmospheric vibe that feels extra magical during the holiday season.

Planning to spend more time in the original Universal park? Our Universal Studios Florida Guide covers attractions, entertainment, food, and crowd tips.

  • Elaborate themed rooms

  • Exclusive holiday merch

  • Seasonal photo opsPerfect for grabbing gifts, ornaments, and candy-kitchen goodies.

Grinchmas in Seuss Landing

Welcome to Grinchmas — the heart of the holiday season at Islands of Adventure!“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” has always been one of our favorite holiday stories, so the PPPD crew finds this corner of the park to be grinchtastic fun with a big side of nostalgia. From the music to the costumes to the slightly chaotic Whoville energy that just hits every time.

The Grinch Character Meet & Greet - Universal Studios Florida 2025

  • The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular A live stage show packed with holiday humor, big musical numbers, and all the heart you expect from Dr. Seuss’s classic tale. It’s a must-do at least once.

  • Meet & Greets with The Grinch and the Whos The Grinch is delightfully unhinged (as he should be), and the Whos bring all the festive cheer. These meet-and-greets are some of the most personality-filled interactions at Universal.

  • Over-the-Top Decorations in Seuss Landing Every inch of Seuss Landing goes all-out with colorful, whimsical décor that looks like it jumped straight off the page. It’s pure holiday joy.

Seasonal Snacks. Look for Who-liday cookies, themed treats, and festive bites that rotate throughout the season.

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Grinch meet-and-greets are incredibly popular and lines build quickly. Rope drop gives you the best chance at short waits and the best photos.

✨ Christmas in The Wizarding World – Hogsmeade

Hogsmeade absolutely shines during the holidays — it’s pure wizarding-world coziness from the moment you step in. The snow-covered rooftops feel a little extra enchanted this time of year, and the whole village gets a subtle but beautiful festive glow.

While we are still waiting for the offical details years past have included:

  • Magical winter garlands & lamppost wreaths The garlands woven along the shopfronts and the wreaths on the lampposts bring just the right amount of holiday charm to the already wintry village aesthetic. It’s understated but so atmospheric — especially on quieter paths or tucked between shops.

  • Holiday soundtrack & atmospheric entertainment The background music in Hogsmeade shifts for the season, creating an even cozier vibe as you wander. You may also catch bits of atmospheric entertainment that add to the festive mood without overwhelming the space.

  • Seasonal drinks & treats The Three Broomsticks and Honeydukes both roll out seasonal offerings, from warm wintery drinks to holiday sweets.

The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle

The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle returns for the 2026 holiday season!

The nighttime projection spectacular transforms Hogwarts Castle with scenes, music and special effects inspired by holiday moments from the Harry Potter films.

We are very happy to see this one back.

Exact performance times have not yet been announced. Because the show takes place after dark, make sure you check the Universal Orlando app before planning your evening around it.

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: If this is a must-do for you, don't plan on leaving Islands of Adventure too early. We will add more specific timing and viewing strategy once Universal publishes the full schedule.

Epic Universe Holiday Highlights

Epic Universe is heading into its second Christmas season, and the holiday celebration is expanding.

Celestial Park

This is where Epic's big seasonal energy really shines with twinkling lights, elegant décor, and dreamy photo ops everywhere you turn.

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter stretches across all three Universal theme parks again in 2026, including the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe.

Expect festive lights and décor throughout the land, with holiday-themed entertainment at select Wizarding World locations.

We are waiting for Universal to release the more detailed 2026 entertainment and food lineup, and we will add those specifics here as soon as they are confirmed.

Celestial Park lit up with lights - Christmas Holidays 2025

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Celestial Park is the spot for golden-hour holiday photos. Arrive just before sunset for the prettiest light, softer crowds, and some of the most magical shots you’ll get all season.

The Wizarding World – Ministry of Magic

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter stretches across all three Universal theme parks again in 2026, including the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe.

The Ministry of Magic brings a whole new kind of holiday charm to Epic Universe — elegant, moody, and very old-world wizarding. Think European-inspired holiday décor, rich greens and golds, and magical details that feel straight out of a classic British Christmas story (with a wizarding twist, of course).

Expect festive lights and décor throughout the land, with holiday-themed entertainment at select Wizarding World locations.

We are waiting for Universal to release the more detailed 2026 entertainment and food lineup, and we will add those specifics here as soon as they are confirmed.

Isle of Berk

Berk celebrates the holidays the only way Vikings know how — with huge personality and a ton of heart. It’s festive, a little rugged, and absolutely bursting with charm. If your crew loves How to Train Your Dragon, this land will feel like the warmest winter hug.

Universal has not yet revealed exactly what those decorations will look like, which might be part of the fun. A Viking Christmas feels like it has a lot of possibilities.

We will update this section once Universal gives us a closer look.

Super Nintendo World

Mario and friends are officially getting into the holiday spirit in Orlando.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will receive special holiday décor for the first time in 2026.

Universal has not released specifics yet about character costumes, food, merchandise or exactly how the land will be decorated, so we aren't going to borrow details from Universal Studios Hollywood and assume Orlando will be identical.

Stay tuned. This is one we are very curious to see.

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: With new holiday décor debuting in both SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and Isle of Berk, expect those areas to be especially popular for photos once the decorations arrive.

Dark Universe

Dark Universe celebrating the holidays? We hope so, but Universal has not released details about Dark Universe for 2026. Keeping our fingers crossed we'll see some gothic holiday magic in this land.

Holiday Food & Treats at Universal Orlando

Grinch themed Christmas cookies at Seuss Landing in Universal Studios, Florida

Yes, there will be holiday food. No, Universal has not given us the full 2026 menus yet.

Seasonal food and beverage offerings are expected throughout the parks, CityWalk and Universal Orlando hotels, but the detailed 2026 menus have not been released.

Rather than send you hunting for last year's treats, we will update this section with the 2026 holiday food lineup once Universal releases it.

Holiday Fun at Universal CityWalk

The holidays don't stop when you leave the parks.

The Green and Red Coconut Club returns to Universal CityWalk for 2026, transforming the Red Coconut Club into a festive hangout with holiday décor, live entertainment and seasonal cocktails.

CityWalk will also feature seasonal food, shopping and entertainment throughout the holiday season.

Holiday Fun at Universal Orlando Hotels

Universal Resort holiday Christmas trees - 2025

Universal’s onsite hotels go all-in for the holidays, and each one brings its own personality to the celebration. Whether you’re staying onsite or just stopping by for a festive wander, the hotel lobbies feel like hidden holiday gems waiting to be explored.

  • Themed décor unique to each property Every hotel has its own holiday aesthetic — from Portofino Bay’s stunning Italian-inspired Christmas charm to Sapphire Falls’ tropical-meets-holiday vibe. Think towering trees, glowing garlands, and décor that matches each resort’s storytelling style.

  • Seasonal food & cocktails Most hotel lounges and quick-service spots roll out special holiday snacks and sips. Expect cozy cocktails, festive treats, and limited-time menu items that make resort-hopping extra fun this time of year.

  • Festive lobby entertainment (varies by hotel) Depending on where you go, you may find roaming carolers, live musicians, or charming holiday photo ops. These little moments add so much atmosphere — the kind of “wander in, stay longer than planned” vibe we love.

  • Holiday music & greenery throughout common areas Soft seasonal music and lush holiday plants help transform the hotels into warm, inviting spaces that feel like a calm break from the park energy.

Pixie Dust Pro Tip: You don’t need to be staying onsite to enjoy the lobby décor or festive ambiance — anyone can visit. Hotel-hopping during the holidays is one of our favorite low-stress activities, especially in the evenings.

2026 Universal Orlando Holiday Offers

Universal has also released several offers that may help take some of the sting out of a holiday vacation.

Current 2026 offers include savings of up to 30% on stays of five nights or longer at participating Universal Orlando hotels, with potential additional savings when bundling eligible hotel stays and theme park tickets.

There are also current multi-day ticket offers and special Florida resident deals.

Offers, availability and blackout dates can change, so don't assume the advertised maximum savings will apply to every trip.

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: This is exactly the kind of vacation where comparing the hotel discount, ticket promotion and package price

Thinking about staying onsite for Early Park Admission and holiday convenience? Our Universal Orlando Resort Hotels Guide has everything you need — from room details to transportation tips.

Planning Tips for 2026

Holiday season at Universal Orlando is pure magic — but it’s also one of the busiest times of the year. A little strategy makes a huge difference in how smooth and joyful your trip feels. Here are our top tips to help you navigate crowds, shows, and all that festive fun:

  • Arrive Early Mornings are your best friend! Crowds swell dramatically by mid-day, especially on weekends and the week before Christmas. Rope drop lets you experience the headliners and grab those peaceful holiday photos before everyone else arrives.

  • Use the Universal Orlando App (A LOT) The app updates showtimes, parade schedules, wait times, and mobile order options throughout the day. It’s especially helpful for tracking the holiday parade, character sets, and entertainment windows (which can shift based on daylight and weather).

  • Park-to-Park Tickets = Holiday Superpower With shows, décor, and seasonal treats spread across all three parks, Park-to-Park tickets make it easy to hop where the fun is happening — or escape to a quieter park when crowds peak.

  • Best Days to Visit Weekdays in early December remain the sweet spot for lowest crowds and most flexibility. Saturdays are the highest-crowd days, and the week between Christmas and New Year’s is wall-to-wall packed.

  • Plan a Midday Break Crowds and sensory stimulation peak mid-afternoon. Heading back to your hotel (or exploring CityWalk) keeps the day feeling fun instead of overwhelming.

  • Mobile Order Meals During Off-Peak Times Dining lines explode between 12–2 PM. Mobile ordering early — even scheduling ahead — saves major time and keeps your energy up.

  • Buy Holiday Treats Early in the Day Many seasonal snacks do sell out daily, especially limited-batch items at the Tribute Store and select quick-service locations.

  • Entertainment Crowds Peak at Showtimes If you aren’t planning to watch a show or parade, this is a great time to ride attractions instead — wait times often dip during big entertainment windows

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Photograph décor early in the morning for the best lighting and virtually no crowds. Then come back after sunset when everything glows — you’ll get two totally different (and totally magical) vibes.

🌧️ Bonus PPPD Tip: Rainy evenings mean super low crowds and gorgeous reflections on the pavement — some of the best holiday photos you’ll take all season.

Should You Visit Universal for the Holidays?

Absolutely — YES! Universal Orlando’s 2025 holiday season is shaping up to be one of the most festive, over-the-top, joy-filled celebrations they’ve ever done. With Epic Universe joining the party for the very first time, the resort is basically wrapping itself in twinkle lights and handing out holiday magic by the handful.

Whether you're sipping cocoa in Diagon Alley, giggling at Grinch-y shenanigans in Seuss Landing, wandering through a snow-kissed Celestial Park, or soaking in the gothic winter vibes in Dark Universe, there’s something special waiting around every corner — from morning rope drop to nighttime ambiance.
