🎄 “Before You Go” Festival Planning Tips

✔ 1. Most Festival dishes qualify as Disney Dining Plan snack credits!

This is great news for families — you can easily turn a holiday afternoon into a DDP-friendly tasting tour. Curious whether the Disney Dining Plan is actually worth it for your family? We break it all down — costs, value, tips, and real-world examples — in our Disney Dining Plan Guide.

🧚‍♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Save snack credits for items marked NEW or premium dishes (like salmon, schnitzel, or tamales) to maximize your value.

✔ 2. Booth lines are shortest early afternoon

Crowds peak right after the afternoon shows and pick back up around 5:00 PM as locals arrive after work.

✔ 3. Indoor spots = warm weather / rain bonuses

  • The Odyssey (Holiday Hearth)

  • CommuniCore Hall

  • Connections Café & EateryThese are climate-controlled lifesavers, especially in early December heat or late December cold snaps.

✔ 4. The Cookie Stroll is designed to be done over multiple visits

You do NOT have to complete it in a single day — stamps roll over as long as you keep your Festival Passport.(This is big for APs, resort guests, and anyone with Park Hoppers.)

🍪 2025 Cookie Stroll + Checklist

Complete the Cookie Stroll by purchasing any five qualifying cookies (🍪) throughout World Showcase and getting your Festival Passport stamped at each booth.

Once you’ve collected five stamps, present your completed page at Holiday Sweets & Treats (near Showcase Plaza) to receive your complimentary treat — it’s different every year, and always a cute surprise!

🎅 Holiday Traditions to Look For in EPCOT

Beyond the bites, EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays is filled with seasonal magic:

  • Holiday storytellers around World Showcase share traditions from their home countries

  • Voices of Liberty sing holiday harmonies in their Victorian best

  • JOYFUL! brings high-energy gospel and R&B to the season

  • The Candlelight Processional is the crown jewel of EPCOT holidays

  • Cozy decorations change subtly from pavilion to pavilion

Sprinkle these moments between your food stops, and the festival turns into a full-day celebration.

Want to dive even deeper into the holiday traditions at EPCOT? We’ve got all the deets in our 2025 Festival of the Holiday's Guide.

🧠 Festival of the Holidays FAQ

❓When is the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays in 2025?

The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays typically runs from late November through late December. Exact dates can shift year to year, so we always recommend checking the official Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app for this year’s festival dates and daily entertainment schedules.

❓Is the Holiday Cookie Stroll free?

You’ll need to pay for each cookie along the Cookie Stroll, but once you’ve purchased any five qualifying cookies (🍪) and collected five stamps in your Festival Passport, you can redeem them for a complimentary treat at Holiday Sweets & Treats near Showcase Plaza.

❓Do I have to complete the Cookie Stroll in one day?

Nope! You can absolutely spread the Cookie Stroll across multiple EPCOT visits. As long as you hang onto your Festival Passport, your stamps will still count until the festival ends.

❓Can I use the Disney Dining Plan at EPCOT Festival of the Holidays booths?

Yes — most festival food items at Holiday Kitchens count as snack credits on the Disney Dining Plan. This makes the festival a fantastic way to stretch your snack credits on higher-value items like specialty cookies, savory small plates, and some desserts. If you’re still deciding whether the plan is right for you, check out our Disney Dining Plan Guide for cost breakdowns and tips.

❓Are there any good indoor festival booths if the weather is bad?

Yes! A few Festival of the Holidays locations are indoors and air-conditioned (or heated), which is a lifesaver during Florida’s unpredictable winter weather. Look for:

  • Holiday Hearth Desserts at The Odyssey

  • Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow in CommuniCore Hall

  • Connections Café & Eatery in World Discovery

These are great spots to regroup, enjoy your treats, and warm up (or cool down). Looking for more places to escape the rain or the heat at EPCOT? Zip over to our Beat the Heat & Rain at EPCOT guide and cheat sheet — it’s packed with tailored tips and cool (or cozy!) hideaways.

❓Are EPCOT Festival of the Holidays food booths open all day?

Most Holiday Kitchens and Festival booths open around 11:00 AM and operate until park close, but hours can vary slightly by location or due to weather. Your best bet is to double-check in the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit.

❓Can I enjoy the festival without a Park Hopper ticket?

Yes. As long as you have valid admission and a park reservation (if required) for EPCOT on a festival day, you can enjoy the Festival of the Holidays, Holiday Kitchens, Cookie Stroll, and entertainment without needing Park Hopper. If you do have Park Hopper, it’s easier to pop in just for an evening of snacks, Cookie Stroll stops, and Candlelight Processional.

🎁 That's a Wrap

And that wraps up our cozy stroll around the 2025 Festival of the Holidays — well, almost. Before you pack away your festival passport, don’t forget to complete your Holiday Cookie Stroll (and pick up your sweet reward!).

This year’s booths offer such a beautiful blend of comfort classics, international holiday traditions, and clever new creations. Whether you’re chasing down every [NEW for 2025] dish, sticking with nostalgic flavors, or creating your own dessert-only adventure, this festival is all about savoring the season in your own favorite way.
