Luggage for a Disney Trip

When it comes to packing for your practically perfect Walt Disney World vacation, balance is key. You don’t want to overpack—save room for those must-have Mickey ears and EPCOT festival souvenirs!—but you also want to be prepared for the surprises Florida might throw your way (👋 twisted ankle, we're looking at you).

We keep our clothes minimal and comfy, but when it comes to health and hygiene essentials? We plan like we're prepping for the zombie apocalypse. Trust us—it’s better to have it than to Uber to CVS at midnight or buy meds or first aid items at the resorts elevated prices.

🧚 Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Packing cubes are our friends! They help organize your suitcase, keep outfits tidy, and make unpacking in your resort room a breeze.

🎒 General Disney World Packing List

Here’s what we pack for every trip, whether we’re staying on-site at a Disney resort or nearby:

👚 Clothing & Accessories

  • One outfit per day—plus one extra (hello, unexpected rain shower or Tiana's Bayou Adventure soakings)

  • A few mix-and-match bottoms you can re-wear or wash in the room

  • 2–3 sets of sleepwear

  • Compression ankle socks (1 per day + 1 extra)

  • Comfortable walking shoes (plus backup pair—never bring brand new ones!)

  • Hat & sunglasses

  • Light jacket or sweater (especially if you’re prone to freezing in AC)

  • Ponchos or umbrellas (Florida rain = unpredictable) (You can find out Beat the Rain and Heat Park Map here.)

  • Jewelry you’re okay with losing

  • Optional: Swimsuit for pool or water park days

  • Also we pack a variety of Minnie Mouse ears to make our days feel a little more magical.

🧼 Toiletries & Health

  • All regular prescription meds

  • Travel-size versions of your preferred shampoo, lotion, skincare & makeup

  • Hairbrush, hair ties, nail clippers, lip balm

  • Deodorant, feminine hygiene products

  • Chafing balm (even if your thighs don’t usually rub—it’s FLORIDA) -

🧚 Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Florida heat is no joke. Check out our Best Tips for Beating the Heat so you can stay cool, comfy, and still soak up all the magic.

  • Bandaids, moleskin, antibacterial cream, hydrocortisone

  • Ace bandage (yes, we learned this one the hard way)

  • Pain relievers (ibuprofen, acetaminophen), allergy medicine, anti-nausea, anti-diarrhea, cough drops

  • Sunblock - the higher the SPF the better.

🧚 Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Most Disney resorts stock H2O+ shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower—so you can pack light on toiletries if you’re not picky.

⚡ ⚡ Gear & Gadgets (updated section)

  • Refillable water bottle

  • Reusable straw

  • Charging cords + multi-plug cube

  • External phone battery (or 2!)

  • Towel or cooling fan for hot days
