Disney Adds Virtual Queue for Beak & Barrel Tavern Reservations After Rocky Start
Ahoy, Disney fans—this one’s been a ride. 🍹 When Disney first announced that Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) would open for Magic Kingdom’s brand-new pirate lounge, The Beak & Barrel Tavern, everyone knew demand would be intense. But few could have predicted just how bumpy the launch would be.

ADR Drop Day Goes Overboard
On August 14, things went sideways fast. Just as ADRs were scheduled to go live, Disney’s entire dining reservation system crashed. Guests were met with error messages, maintenance screens, and no way to book any dining—not just Beak & Barrel. The meltdown quickly became the talk of the seas.

Disney even leaned into the pirate theme with a cheeky message on the My Disney Experience site:
“Arrgh! Too many pirates tried to pillage at The Beak and Barrel... Come back for the treasure ye seek when reservations set sail the week of August 18, 2025.”
A New ADR Date (and a Big Change)
After the rocky start, Disney rescheduled the booking window for August 20, 2025, at 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
That’s a major shift from Disney’s usual approach—ADR drops almost always go live at 6:00 AM ET. While Disney hasn’t given an official reason, the later release time seems designed to spread out demand. Guests making their regular morning dining reservations won’t have to compete with the crush of eager pirates trying to snag Beak & Barrel at the same time.
So sharpen your wit, mark your calendars, and be ready tonight at 7 p.m.—this one’s sure to be competitive.
Virtual Queue Now in Place
To help avoid another system crash, Disney has introduced a virtual queue system for Beak & Barrel Tavern reservations. Instead of booking directly in the My Disney Experience app, guests are now redirected to the official Walt Disney World website to complete their dining reservation.

When demand is high, you’ll first land in a virtual waiting room that holds guests in place until traffic eases. Once it’s your turn, you’ll automatically be moved forward to the reservation page.
According to BlogMickey, this waiting room system is already in place on the Disney World website and will activate during peak times—such as when Beak & Barrel bookings first open. While Disney hasn’t made an official statement, this lines up with the change guests are already seeing in the app: tapping Reserve Dining now always opens the website instead of handling the booking in-app.
How to Join the Queue
Log into your My Disney Experience account early (whether on mobile or desktop).
From the app, tap Reserve Dining—you’ll be redirected to the Walt Disney World website.
Or, skip the app and go directly to the Disney World dining reservations page in your browser.
When demand spikes, you’ll be placed into the virtual waiting room. Stay put—refreshing too often can hurt your place.
Once it’s your turn, you’ll be moved to the reservation page to complete your booking.
🧚♀️ Pixie Dust Pro Tip: Have a second device (like a laptop or tablet) logged into your Disney account and ready. Sometimes one device gets through faster than another, and every second counts when snagging this hot-ticket pirate tavern.

Final Thoughts
The Beak & Barrel Tavern is shaping up to be one of the hottest dining tickets at Walt Disney World this year. Between its pirate theming, specialty drinks, and storytelling magic, it’s no wonder demand has been overwhelming.
👉 Will you be trying your luck at snagging a spot when the reservations open? May the odds be ever in your favor.
